Amazing Fantasy #16
Writer: Simon Furman
Penciller: James Raiz
Inker: Rob Campenella, Jack Purcell, and Rodney Ramos
Colorist: Val Staples
Plot: A man is recruited by Advanced Idea Mechanics
to decommission their human nanotechnology project. There is one catch. The
original creator has literally staked her life on the project. In an effort to
thwart the decommissioning, she releases a monster on the population of the lab.
Review: Although this is number #16 of the Amazing
Fantasy series, this is the beginning of the Death’s Head story. Simon
Furman’s story sets a nice tone for the return of this villain, and the art is
appropriately dark and moody. The dueling ideologies of the creator and the
company she works for is an interesting storyline and may prove to be more
important than the monster created as a result of it.
