Batman:
Legends of the Dark Knight #201
Writer: Christos N. Gage
Penciller: Ron Wagner
Colorist: James Sinclair
Plot: After incapacitating Clayface, Batman arrives home to
find out that a prominent crime writer is writing a novel
about a series of murders, claiming that Bruce’s father is
the murderer. Batman must dig into a 30 year old case to
find the real killer, or at least clear his father’s name.
The more he digs, the more he begins to doubt his father’s
innocence.
Review: I don’t think I have ever read a Batman story arc
where Batman was forced to question whether or not his
father was a good man. Story arcs that expose a chink in
Batman’s mental armor are some of my favorites and so far,
this one does not disappoint. The art of Ron Wagner really
brings out the anger, confusion, and then all out rage that
Batman feels as he is tracking down leads that lead him to a
conclusion he doesn’t want to see. This is the start to what
could be a really good series, definitely one to check out.
