Batman:
Legends of the Dark Knight #204
Writer: Justin Gray
Artist: Steven Cummings
Letterer: Phil Balsam
Colorist: James Sinclair
Plot: Bruce Wayne is renovating his home and stumbles
across a hidden room in his parent’s section of the house.
He finds out that his father was part of a secret society of
scientists and politicians trying to affect change in Gotham
City. Meanwhile, someone in Gotham City is “healing” random
people on the street and turning them into perpetual
sleepwalkers.
Review: This issue suggests the introduction of a new
villain that Batman will have to contend with and peels back
another layer of Batman’s past. While trying to unravel this
new mystery, he thinks he may have found a link to his
father’s work and a conspiracy that may have ended in his
death. I always enjoy the Batman books that take a look at
his past and make him take a look at himself in the process.
I think if Justin Gray can keep the story as plausible as
this first issue, without completely running off the tracks,
this could be a good three part series to pick up.
Special thanks go out to Jeremy Shorr, owner of
Titan Comics for allowing us to use his advance
preview books for review purposes.
