Widow: The Things They Say About Her #1 (of 6)
Writer: Richard K. Morgan
Layouts: Sean Phillips
Finishes: Bill Sienkiewicz
Plot: Black Widow is an ex-Russian agent, being
chased by the US government for her past deeds. In this
issue, she is introduced to the Cuban government while being
hunted down by a group of federal agents.
Review: Black Widow lays the groundwork for a
series filled with conspiracy and a little cloak and dagger.
The artwork by Sean Phillips adds to the tension, with
subtle differences in the artwork that helps to accentuate
the “good”, “bad”, and the “not so sure” guys. Being the
first issue of a series, it is hard to tell where it will
eventually go, be it intriguing, or utterly ridiculous, but
if the first issue is any indication, this is definitely a
good start.
