Elfquest:
The Discovery #1 (of 4)
Story: Wendy and Richard Pini
Art and Lettering: Wendy Pini
Editor: Robert Greenberger
Plot: After a bitter battle with their human overlords, an elven clan, the Wolfriders, are free to pursue their lives.
In this issue, while the clan waits for one of their most
respected clansmen, Sunstream, to awaken from suspended
animation, some of the leaders ponder where their future
lies.
Review: This book jumps head first into an elven world
without any kind of primer. Not being an avid reader of any
of the many comics or books about elves, I was a little lost
through the first few pages. But once I got my bearings I
really enjoyed this book. Not too heavy and not to fluffy,
this book was a fun read. The art is beautiful and colorful,
giving a nice playful look to the entire book. If you are
into these comics you should probably pick this one up. For
the casual reader, be prepared to have to reread the first
few pages once you get a feeling for the book.
