Jack
Cross #3
Writer:
Warren Ellis
Artist: Gary Erskine
Plot:
Jack Cross is an FBI agent brought back into the fold
when his old field agents have trouble interrogating a
terrorist involved in a suitcase bomb transfer. Issue three
picks up when Jack follows a lead to camp X-Ray at
Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to interrogate a woman who helped
smuggle a special high frequency bomb out of Iraq. During
the interrogation he learns that a conspiracy is being
perpetrated involving the American government against its
citizens.
Review: Jack Cross is a quick, easy read that keeps
the action up and makes the book seem a lot shorter than it
really is. Jack Cross is a mix of James Bond and Jack Bauer
from 24. Warren Ellis mixes fiction with fact in order to
blur the lines and create an alternate reality that is just
a little bit uncomfortable. Gary Erskine’s artwork does
justice to the book and as long as the conspiracy does not
get too over the top and can stay within the boundaries of
reality, this can be a very fun book to read.
