Justice League Unlimited #23
Writer: Mike McAvennie
Pencils: Leigh Gallagher
Inks-Jesse Delperdang
Plot: A detective trying to sort through all of the
happenings after the Justice League stop yet another group
of costumed bandits from robbing another bank interviews a
group of witnesses. The witness statements help to piece
together the robbery and ensuing battle.
Review: JLU #23 takes a fairly novel approach to
telling to tell a story that has been told hundreds of
times, with dozens of different comic book characters.
Still, even without the interesting little twist, this story
could have very well been just another kids’ story. But the
ending stuck with me. While most of these kinds comics try
to leave its reader with some magical moral like “stay in
school” and “tobacco is whacko” this little nugget actually
made a nice impression on me. And I think it will do the
same for you. Check it out. It is only $2.25 and if you are
strapped for cash, you can wait a week to pick up the latest
Xtreme X-Men or whatever.
