Lucifer
#68
Writer: Mike Carey
Artists: Peter Gross and
Ryan Kelly
Lettering: Jared K Fletcher
Colors: Daniel Vozzo
Plot: Loosely based on Neil Gaiman’s Sandman comic and
some of its supporting characters, Lucifer is the continuing
stories of Morningstar aka, Lucifer after he loses the key
to hell. In this issue, part 5 of a 6 part story arc, a
little girl is given a view of the other side of the world
she thought she knew and while Lucifer is busy fighting a
demon in his world, Fiddler’s Green makes an appearance and
leaves her with a decision that could completely undo the
universe and everything that has come before her. Lucifer is
able to overcome his distraction with enough time to weigh
in on this decision.
Review: This is not the kind of book you are going to
be able to jump into and be able to follow right along. This
book reads and deals with the same subject matter as its
predecessor and should be read in a series. Although the art
is not as good as the original, if you liked Neil Gaiman’s
Sandman series I think this is an adequate replacement.
Start off with the first four issues of this series and then
prepare to do a little digging. This is the 68th issue and
it may take a while to start this collection. But if you
have been itching for something to replace that Sandman fix,
judging from this issue, it may be worth it.
