Mooney
Plot:
Take a few romance comics from the 60s and 70s, throw in a
few writers to update and parody each issue, and voila, you
have Marvel Romance Redux. Each little vignette takes your
basic love story and adds a dirty little twist; be it the
first stripper president, a twisted love story between two
seriously diseased individuals, or relationships told from
the female perspective using hit-men as a metaphor.
Review: These types of comics have a certain hit or
miss quality. Either you laugh hysterically at the concept
and content or you just shrug your shoulders and move on to
the next comic in your stack. Each vignette is so off the
wall different that some are bound to give you a good giggle
while others are completely forgettable. I would suggest
checking it out. I am sure you will find something in here
that hits the mark.
