Matador
#5 (of 6)
Writer: Devin Grayson
Artist: Brian Stelfreeze
Colorist: Michelle Madsen
Letterer: Pat Brosseau
After surviving the attempt on her life in the previous
issue, Detective Isabel Cordona finds herself on the run
with the assassin known as Matador, the man who she’s been
chasing since the first issue. Izzy soon realizes that there
is no one she can turn to for help in exposing the rampant
corruption at work in the Miami P.D. No one except the
mysterious man who has saved her life on more than one
occasion, the Matador himself.
Matador continues to be an exciting and fun read month after
month. Mostly I think the credit goes to artist Brian Stelfreeze, one of the best in the business when it comes to
drawing exciting action sequences and tense drama. Matador
reads like an illustrated movie in the best possible sense. Stelfreeze doesn’t exactly seem at his best on this issue as
there are several moments when the art looks rushed, but it
still looks better than half the stuff on the shelf. If
you’re a fan of Stelfreeze then you should definitely be
reading this book. If you’ve never heard of Stelfreeze the
you should REALLY be reading this book. Just do yourself a
favor and pick up Matador, your eyes will thank you for all
the candy.
Special thanks go out to Jeremy Shorr, owner of
