Moon
Knight #4
Writer: Charlie Huston
Artist: David Finch
Inker: Danny Miki
Colorist: Frank D’Amarta
Letterer: Joe Caramagna
In this issue, we get a look at more of the conspiracy
surrounding the return of the Moon Knight. All the while, we
get a look at Marc Spector as he continues to break down,
trying to make sense of the return the spirit of vengeance
that drives him, Khonshu.
This isn’t the easiest book in the world to explain as you
can tell from my sketchy first paragraph. This book is dark,
mysterious, and truthfully, a little bit confusing. The
three previous issues all shared these traits, but this one
seems to be just a bit tougher to follow than the others.
The entire setting of this book is extremely dark and
violent. Nearly every character is just a different kind of
nasty. This is pulled off by the amazing art of David Finch.
His work on this book is nearly haunting. The violent scenes
are some of the most graphic and striking that I’ve ever
seen in a comic book.
Moon Knight is a comic book that certainly isn’t for
everyone. The story is at times confusing. Other times, it
drags along achingly slowly. However, I’ve really been
enjoying it. While it’s certainly not a comic that’s ever
going to be number one on the sales charts, it is a truly
unique book that delivers its story in a way most other
books don’t. It’s slow, it’s dark, it’s violent, and I love
every page of it. This is definitely one of those books that
you need to flip through in your local comic shop before
buying it. I think you’ll come to find that you either love
what you see or hate what you see.
