Red
Sonja/Claw:
The Devil’s Hand #1 (of 4)
Writer: John Layman
Artist: Andy Smith
Colorist: Wildstorm FX
Letterer: Travis Lanham
Plot: A man with a cursed hand is tormented and plans
to commit suicide when he is attacked by a band of
marauders. Red Sonja stumbles on the melee and fights off
the horde, only to pick up a riding companion. She knows a
man that may be able to get rid of his cursed hand. A witch
picks up on their trail and has a surprise waiting for them
when they reach town.
Review: The best thing about this book happens to be
the art. It seems that the only real prerequisite to writing
this story was to make sure Red Sonya is splattered across
each page in a provocative pose. Special care seemed to be
taken to make her as well drawn as possible with little care
to anything else. No real reason to pick up this book.
