Ronan
#1 (of 4)
Writer: Simon Furman
Artist: Jorge Lucas
Color Art: Dave McGaig
Letters: VC’s Joe Carmagna
Plot: Once part of the Kree high council, he was
banished after being found guilty of treason. This first
issue of four has Ronan tracking down Rana-Nile, a witness
against him in his trial. He lands on an outer rim planet
and dispenses some Kree-la justice before moving on in his
search for Rana-Nile.
Review: Ok, if you can get past the bad artwork, flip
“action film” comments mixed with the kings proper English,
you might have an enjoyable book here. But, I just can’t get
over the Arnold Schwartzenegger meets Sean Connery and can
turn invisible, fly, and change the shape of matter among
other things. Oh and he seems to think he is Rambo with an
invincibility shield and God complex. It is all just a
little much. This comic has a lot of blood and gore, which
is a plus when there isn’t much else to look at, but the
character and the dialogue just made my stomach turn.
