Spider
Man Loves Mary Jane #1
Writer: Sean McKeever
Art: Takeshi Miyazawa
Colors: Christina Strain
Letters: Dave Sharpe
Cover Art: Tak, Lee, and Strain
Plot: Recently single Mary Jane has a crush on
Spiderman, all in front of her tutor, Peter Parker. In this
first issue she tries to track down the object of her
affection.
Review: Designed for young to pre teen girls, this is
a WB version of the relationship between Mary Jane and
Spider Man, complete with preteen girl talk and awkward
teenage tension. Not to say that is a bad thing. Mixed with
the manga style of Takeshi Miyazawa, I think this book is a
great starter for any girl looking to get into comics, and
Marvel may have hit onto a great comic to bring a new
demographic of readers into the fold.
