Supergirl
#1
Writers: Jeph Loeb
Pencils: Ian Churchill
Inker: Norm Rapmund
Colorist: David Moran/Beth Soto
Plot: Supergirl’s backstory followed by Supergirl
coming to terms with her identity, and trying to fit in with
family and the JSA.
Review: After reading the lead in issue (Supergirl
#0), I enjoyed the story and the art and was looking forward
to this weeks issue. The story is still as compelling as the
first issue and the artwork is just as good, if not for the
obvious focus on the T and A factor of Supergirl, Stargirl,
and Powergirl, which is fine, but it seems the best art is
left for the static shots of them and the art in the rest of
the book suffers a little for it. This issue seems to be
just a setup for a larger story arc where she spends most of
her time just trying to fit it where she can, with maybe a
cameo or two from the JSA and some action thrown in for good
measure.
