Truth, Justin, and the American Way #2 (of 5)
Writers: Scott Kurtz and Aaron Williams
Illustrator: Giuseppe Ferrario
Plot:
After mistakenly putting on the wrong costume for his
bachelor party, Justin arrives just in time to go nose to
gun with an FBI agent who thinks he and his friends are a
Communist splinter cell sent into this country to steal
American secrets. While being attacked, he learns of the
suit’s secret powers and his life and upcoming marriage to
his fiancČe are completely turned upside down.
Review: Truth, Justin, and the American Way is a pop
culture geek’s dream. From the send up cover to the 80’s
classic “Bachelor Party”, to the cameos by “TJ Hooker”,
Isaac from the “Love Boat” and “Mel” from Mel’s diner. That
alone makes this issue worth picking up. This second issue
also has sly little references in the writing that could
easily fly over your head if you aren’t paying attention
too. The writing on its own is pretty funny but matched with
the cartoony art style is sure to give most readers a
giggle, even if you don’t pick up on most of the pop culture
references. I would recommend this book for anyone looks for
a few giggles over the storyline and even more giggles at
things that you were sure you had forgotten about.
