Union
Jack #1 (of 4)
Writer: Christos N. Gage
Penciler: Mike Perkins
Colorist: Laura Villari
Letterer: VC’s Cory Petit
Plot: While fighting a vampire epidemic, Union Jack
is called to MI5 to protect the city against a terrorist
attack. He gets help from British allies that aren’t exactly
excited to be working together. The group has a hard time
keeping together long enough to prevent a terrorist attack
on London. Meanwhile, Union Jack questions the altruistic
intentions of his superiors and disobeys orders to save the
populace.
Review: This first issue of Union Jack is packed full
of action and intrigue with a well handled political
message. While the plot points that keep the story moving
forward seem a little forced, the overall story is
interesting enough to push through. I would recommend this
title purely for the wonderful art and engaging story that
seems like it will pick up steam very quickly with the next
issue.
