Untold Tales of the New Universe: Star Brand #1

Writer: Jeff Parker
Artist: Javier Pulido
Colorist: Lee Loughridge
Letterer: VC’s Joe Caramagna

Plot:
An alien race is tracking a human that has been branded with the Star Brand that gives him unique power. The human is learning the benefits of his powers and with the help of the alien is figuring out his place in the superhero world.

Review: I have to say I am not very impressed with this comic. Although I do realize it is written for teens, it seems to be dumbed down for its target audience. The art seems kinda slapped together and the story just rambles, needlessly over-explaining some of the minutest details of this superhero (most of which I think won’t even matter in future issues). This extrapolation was actually a pretty big downer and made it very difficult for me to get into actually reading the comic book.
