X-Men: Fairy Tales #1 (of 4)
Writer: C.B. Cebulski
Artist: Sana Takeda
Letterer: Dave Sharpe
Production: Tom Valente
Plot:
A young man born in a giant peach has a significant power
and when the Emperor’s daughter is kidnapped, he is sent on
a quest to destroy the demons that have her. While on his
journey he comes across an assortment of animals that may
help him complete his mission.
Review: Marvel should be ashamed of themselves. They
put together an X-Book aimed at children justifying it with
random lessons in morality about as deep and thought
provoking as “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never
know what you are gonna get”. Total crap. The only remotely
redeeming feature is a few really well drawn panels. The
rest look like someone traced anime characters off of their
television set at home. Keep your children away from this
book. They could suddenly start ramming their heads against
the wall for no apparent reason. And none of us want that.
Special thanks go out to Jeremy Shorr, owner of
Titan Comics for allowing us to use his advance
preview books for review purposes.
