X-Men:
The 198 #1 (of 5)
Writer: David Hine

More House of M aftermath. The mutant known as Magma
suffers a terrible tragedy, while the Toad checks out Mutant
Town post-M-Day. And the mysterious Mister M pays a visit to
the Xavier Institute where most of the world’s last mutants
have gathered.
Beyond having yet another X-title to sell I can’t really see the point of this book. The story seems to focus on the remaining mutants who haven’t yet been accounted for since House of M, but these elements could just as easily have been folded into the regular X-titles and other post-House of M mini-series’ like the far more entertaining Generation M. It’s an average story with average art and overall it seems like a pointless book. Personally, I’m getting kind of tired of the endless parade of post-House of M mini-series. It’s just getting ridiculous. Unless you’re a hardcore X-Men fan there doesn’t seem to be any reason to pick this one up.
