Plot: Several teenagers in a small-town in Colorado concoct a July 4th prank based on a frightening legend that goes awry when their friend ends up accidentally killed; however, the teens agree to keep their involvement a secret from the authorities, who continue to search for the man who apparently killed their friend. A year later, with the July 4th celebration coming up again, the teenagers realize that they're being stalked by someone who clearly intends on keeping the horrible legend alive by killing them off.

Review: The first thing I have to say is, why? Why do the studios keep making sequels that have nothing to do with the originals? I know the big answer is money, but are these movies making money? I enjoyed the first 2 films, so figured I would give this a chance, but after Final Destination 3, which used the same formula, I was hesitant.

The one thing I can say for this sequel is that it at least references and has somewhat of a connection to the series. Overall the movie could be considered a remake of the original, just with a different cast and story. I went in expecting a train wreck, and although it was a pretty bad movie, it wasn't as bad as I expected. The story isn't too bad, but as I stated before it's rehashing the existing story, so the formula is there. As for the acting, it is very obvious that this is a lot of new actors with not much experience. There was effort there, but not a lot of success. I will give the film some credit, they tried to take the original storyline and twist it to an all new level, but it wasn't enough to save it. If it hadn't been a sequel to an existing series it would have been just an average B rate horror film. I liked it better than Final
Destination 3, but it still fell short of being a good film.
