Directed by Steve Odekerk
Plot: Down on the farm, the farmer thinks he's in
charge, keeping all the animals safe and sound. But when the
farmer is out of sight, the lookout sheep shouts "Clear!"
and all of the barnyard animals spring up on two legs, walk,
talk, watch TV, and orchestrate practical jokes.
Review: This was probably one of the first animated
movies I really had no interest in seeing. The trailers, the
posters, and everything else about this movie just screamed
bad to me. It wasn't until I went to rent this film for my
kids that I realized that it was written and directed by
Steve Odekerk. I love his Thumb films and Jimmy Neutron
stuff so my hopes of this film suddenly grew.
Overall this is a fun movie. It is one that will vary
depending on the person. The animation itself is similar to
Jimmy Neutron, but not quite as detailed. At first I really
disliked this style, but as the film went on it somewhat
grew on me. The story is a typical kids film story, but
entertaining. The characters are funny and the actors
performing their voices do a good job. This movie will
appeal more to kids than adults, but I think anyone who
enjoys the animated films will get a kick out of it.
