An
Evening With Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder (2006)
Kevin Smith
Jason Mewes
Directed by J.M. Kenny
Plot: Writer/director Kevin Smith is well known for
his sincere devotion to his loyal fan base, and in this
release, the man behind Clerks, Mallrats, and Dogma sets his
sights on college campuses in London and Toronto in order to
answer questions and offer a series of amusing anecdotes.
Joining Smith on-stage is frequent collaborator Jason Mewes,
who samples Canadian cuisine with the director and tries out
a number of humorous pick-up lines on unsuspecting
urbanites.
Review: Those that know me or that have read my
reviews know that I love Kevin Smith. I know this isn’t
really a movie, but it is considered a documentary, so I am
going to review it anyway. I found the first Evening with
Kevin Smith to be brilliant. Not because it was some
groundbreaking film making, but because of the content.
Evening Harder isn’t quite as good, but is still great. The
only thing that really holds this film back is the fact that
some of the same stories from the first film are retold,
although not at the same length. This new entry into the
Kevin Smith film is great. There are some great new stories
as well as some updates on the out come from the previous
films stories. This film was obviously filmed prior to
Clerks 2 because there are some great lines he has that
actually made it into the Clerks 2 film. If you like Kevin
Smith or enjoyed Evening 1, then you will love this film.
