Plot: Set in a future world where America has lost
the war on drugs, an undercover cop, Fred, is one of many
agents hooked on the popular drug Substance D, which causes
its users to develop split personalities. Fred, for
instance, is also Bob, a notorious drug dealer. Along with
his superior officers, Fred sets up an elaborate scheme to
catch Bob and tear down his operation.
Review: I heard of this movie some time back and
didn’t know what to think of it. It has a great cast and
some decent performances, but the story falls short. The
movie is sometimes hard to follow and never explains itself.
Because of this the message and point of the movie is
sometimes lost. The animation is not only interesting, but
really cool. The way the actors come off looking like
themselves, literally, yet still being animated is something
to see. Although most of the movie somewhat slow and hard to
follow, the scene’s with Keanu Reeves, Woody Harrelson, &
Robert Downey Jr. are worth the whole film. They play off of
each other great and deliver some brilliant dialogue. This
movie is interesting to watch, but I can’t say it’s a very
good movie.
