Plot: Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) is a NASCAR racing
sensation whose "win at all costs" approach has made him a
national hero. He and his loyal racing partner and childhood
friend, Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly), are a fearless
duo, thrilling their fans by finishing most races in the top
spots - with Ricky Bobby always leading the pack. When a
flamboyant French Formula One driver, Jean Girard (Sacha
Baron Cohen), challenges him for the supremacy of NASCAR,
Ricky Bobby must face his own demons and fight for his place
as racing's top driver.
Review: Although I am a fan of Will Ferrell, I wasn’t
sure how good this movie was going to be. My son really
wanted to see it and since I have enjoyed the trailers and
like most of the actors involved I decided to give it a
chance and pray that this wasn’t another Anchorman.
Let me start by saying this movie is retarded and
ridiculous. All of the characters are either stupid,
strange, or both. That being said, it all worked. I found
this movie to be really good. All the jokes seemed to work
really well. Will Ferrell and John C. Reily work great
together. As I watched it, at first I just thought their
performances were awful, but soon realized that was the way
they were supposed to be. Sacha Baron Cohen was very funny,
as usual, as the French driver. I love Ali G and glad to see
him in a big successful film. My favorite characters of this
film are Ricky Bobby’s sons, Walker and Texas Ranger. These
two boys steal the scene every time they are in it. Overall
there is nothing special about this film, but it is a great
comedy and one I would watch numerous times.
