Plot: The Ultimate Avengers are back in this sequel

heroes are aided by another superhero, the Black Panther.
Review: I love comics and movies based on them.
Although I was never a real Avenger fan, until the recent
New Avengers title, I was very excited when the first
Ultimate Avengers came to DVD. I enjoyed that film, but felt
they had sugar coated it a little too much, taking a dark
comic story and making it lighter for the kids. Even though
I was still excited to see part 2, I was afraid they were
going to make another kids film, and that is not what the
Ultimates is.
I personally think this straight to DVD sequel is better
than the first. Marvel took some chances with this one and
added people being killed, stabbed, and disintegrated. The
story is good and does a good job of bringing in the new
character ‘Black Panther’ and adding him to the mix, without
clashing with the original members of the team. The story
also has some decent drama moments as well, where you
sometimes forget that you are watching a cartoon. One of my
only true issues with this film, was the apparent rip off
from War of the Worlds. I don’t know if this was underway
during the filming of War of the Worlds, but it is obvious
that there is some resemblance to that film. Although I like
that film, I just expect something more original for comic
films. This is truly the only issue I had with the movie and
it wasn’t so much of an issue as it was just something I
noticed. If you liked the first film, I believe you will
love the second.
